With editor Eric in Russia for the next eight weeks, my own wrapaging folk are offering a slightly faster turnaround on orders for this fabbo book (about 3 days). UK orders only because of the sheer weight of it but hopefully there’ll be a US distributor soon.

But of course. Given the tough rules of eBay we need to have items in stock when we list them! If you actually follow the link, you’ll realise it’s in stock as it actually tells you how many we have left and how many we’ve sold, Robert.

I moved many times after my divorce and so gave many of such books to charity. Ended up buying ’em again. That Black Cat pic got me into the idea that gore could be fun. And years later met Fulci discussing his Black Cat and how its difficult to direct animals. My current partner bought a massive haul of rare horror and sci-fi from Highgate Oxfam a couple of years back (big love). Someone had obviously died and their whole collection went to charity (alas), but what amazing books from the past such as Horror People and Lorrimar editions I didn’t have.

Denis Gifford (one ‘n’). I too had his inspirational Pictorial History of Horror as a young ‘un and was well pleased when years and years later an old chap asked to buy my Blood and Black Lace giallo book at Camden Film Fair. I pointed out that I’d prefer cash but reluctantly agreed as a sale is a sale. But when I saw ‘D. Gifford’ on his cheque book it all seemed glorious. Denis Gifford was buying MY book. I mumbled something about “THE Denis Gifford!” but was so chuffed I was lost for words. A brief moment of fandom returned to the person that inspired me, as well as Alan Frank, and Monster Movies, etc. Bless

Ahh yes Denis with one D….my bad sorry :). I had A. Frank’s book too. …lost it among moving houses i think :(.
I like the stills in Gifford’s book. I have to thank his photo of the axe in the blonde chix’s head from the 1966 Black Cat remake for ushering me into that remake because i knew only the classic flick. Great thing you met DG in person !!:)
