The Conjuring 3 release date and storyline revealed

As reported by Bloody Disgusting, at the current CinemaCon event it has been revealed that September 11, 2020, is the planned release date for The Conjuring 3.

The movie is the next instalment of the ongoing universe following The Curse of La Llorona and Annabelle Comes Home.

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will be returning as Lorraine and Ed Warren. Story wise, The Conjuring 3 will apparently be about a man on trial for murder who claims he was possessed by a demon.

The Conjuring 3 is a 2020 American supernatural horror feature film to be directed by Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona; short: The Maiden). James Wan is returning a co-producer alongside Peter Safran for his Atomic Monster production company.

New Line Cinema had previously announced that David Leslie Johnson (The Walking Dead; Dungeons & Dragons; Red Riding Hood; Orphan) is the lead writer for the third outing in The Conjuring franchise - he co-wrote the previous entry, which grossed $320 million worldwide..

Although critics were generally unimpressed, The Nun (2018) went on to be the most successful installment in The Conjuring universe so far, with worldwide takings at a whopping $335,711,735.
