‘Come to daddy’

Daddy’s Girl is a 2018 American horror film about a serial killer and his captive stepdaughter directed by British filmmaker Julian Richards (Reborn; Shiver; The Last Horror Film; Darklands) based on a screenplay written by Timothy R. Hill with additional writing by Sean Hogan.

The Zee Studios International-Seahorse Filmhouse production stars Costas Mandylor (Saw franchise), Jemma Dallender, Mark Arnold and Jesse Moss.

Plot:

In the deep South, Zoe (Jemma Dallender) is a young woman being held captive by her stepfather (Costas Mandylor) after the suicide of her mother.

An Iraq war veteran who was discharged for abusing prisoners in Abu Ghraib and also a serial killer, he controls and uses Zoe as bait to lure new female victims whom he mercilessly tortures. However, a rookie cop and a female vigilante eventually come to Zoe’s rescue…

Reviews:

Daddy’s Girl might not be a groundbreaking work, but within its genre context it’s an efficient thriller which delivers its shocks in all the right places as it realises its modest aims.” Dirty Movies

“For all that it might be accused of exploitation, Daddy’s Girl is a surprisingly astute exploration of domestic abuse and the way damage passed through generations can manifest in different ways. It’s an effective little thriller and a challenge to genre conventions.” Eye for Film

” …Daddy’s Girl offers a refreshing spin on a familiar story and keeps you second-guessing Zoe’s choices right until the end. “She likes to watch,” says John menacingly in an early scene, as he shackles their latest victim. Chances are you will too, and the film should find a captive audience.” My Bloody Reviews
