Wretch – USA, 2018

Wretch is a 2018 American supernatural horror feature film written, photographed, edited, co-produced and directed by Brian Cunningham based on a story by Janel Nas. The movie stars James Tackett, Megan Massie and Spencer Korcz.

Plot:

In an attempt to piece together fractured memories of a drug-fuelled night in the woods, three friends confront guilt, jealousy, and a supernatural presence that threatens to expose their true natures…

Review:

“I wouldn’t personally recommend Wretch as the characters were unbearable and the plot went at a snail’s pace. The ending, which is supposed to be shocking, felt more like a cop-out. In the end, I felt like there were more questions than answers.” Kellie Haulotte, Nightmarish Conjurings

“Director Brian Cunningham cuts from brief instances of handheld cam to classic feature, current time to flashbacks and reality to insanity successfully creating confusion is what’s real and what is of the mind […] A good independent feature, all is not answered until the end which happens quickly.” Without Your Head

Release:

Wretch was released on Digital and VOD on January 29 via ThoughtFly Films.

Filming locations:

Louisville, Kentucky
