The Mermaid: Lake of the Dead  – original title: Rusalka: Ozero myortvykh – is a 2018 Russian fantasy horror feature film directed by Svyatoslav Podgaevskiy (The Bride; Queen of Spades: The Dark Rite) from a screenplay co-written with Natalya Dubovaya and Ivan Kapitonov. It stars Viktoriya Agalakova, Igor Khripunov and Efim Petrunin.

An evil mermaid falls in love with Marina’s fiancé Roman and aims to snatch him away from Marina in her underwater Kingdom of Death. The mermaid is a young woman who drowned a few centuries ago.

Marina only has one week to overcome her fear of the dark water, to remain human in the deathly fight with the monsters and not to become one herself…
