Reviews:

” …the major influence is The Exorcist, a film which is name checked on several occasions when Blatty’s novel is shown in Jenny’s hands several times. However, Rau isn’t afraid to repurpose the best parts of The ShiningRingPoltergeist, The Conjuring, and a dozen others in search of the perfect mix. Amazing as it may sound, it actually works, and Aval is a film that is not only greater than the sum of its parts, it’s also an amazingly effective attempt at straight horror…” J Hurtado, Screen Anarchy

“It is, as the the director had intended, unadulterated horror for some time, until it succumbs to conventional tropes of the genre. What seems to be a good tale of haunting despite the hills and the house and the exorcism and the babies, soon turns into a story about witchcraft, the hills, the house, the exorcism and the babies.” Sinndhuja Ramprasad, Silver Screen

“When you boil it down to what you have seen and what you were promised, Siddharth and team give you much more than you anticipate but they get crushed under their own ambition as they try to deliver the twist more surprisingly than convincingly.” Survi Pavan, Survi Reviews

Release:

The film was released in India on 3 November 2017.
