‘If you thought you knew the Bigfoot legend. Think again…’
Primal Rage is a 2018 American horror film directed by special effects expert Patrick Magee (he has worked on House with a 100 Eyes; Zombie Strippers; The Slaughter; et al) from a screenplay co-written with Jay Lee (100 Acres of Hell; Alyce Kills).

The Blue Fox Entertainment movie stars Casey Gagliardi, Andrew Joseph Montgomery and Eloy Casados.

Plot:
Lost deep in the forest of the Pacific Northwest, Ashley and Max Carr are stalked by a terrifying creature that might be Bigfoot. Soon they find themselves embroiled in a strange land of Native American myth and legend turned real.

Hopelessly trying to survive, with a handful of unsavoury locals, they must fight back against this monster in a desperate battle of life or death…

“Regardless of its flaws, Primal Rage is still an incredibly entertaining monster movie, boasting some amazing practical effects and a scary villain. The story might not be all that engaging, but Magee nearly makes up for that with some intense chases and wicked gore.” Bloody Disgusting

” …shows a new side of the mythical monster Sasquatch you have never seen, which makes it a breath of fresh air, and although the approach itself verges on ridiculous, it helps the film to work as much as a guts-and-gore-driven slasher, as it does as a macabre creature feature with two solid lead characters you actually care about.” CineMarvellous!

Primal Rage isn’t bad. It’s just nondescript, conventional, formulaic, by the numbers, or whatever other terms you want to use to describe its personality of pedestrian plainness. Acting, like most other elements in the movie, is adequate.” Culture Crypt

“Packed out with plenty of air-thumping action, killer practical make-up effects and a brand new Sasquatch for the ages, Primal Fear is a hugely fun creature feature, but one that throws itself off-balance one too many times with some difficult character work and a sub-plot that never quite adds-up.”  HeyUGuys

“Thanks to some nicely drawn characters, Primal Rage is much better than Exists, but it is not nearly as fun as Stomping Ground. You probably do not need to reschedule your life to see it tomorrow, but you should definitely take time to appreciate Casadas’ final work when it hits streaming platforms.” J.B. Spins

” …Primal Rage is a special effects bonanza that die-hard horror fans will embrace wholeheartedly. While the set up and overall arc of the narrative don’t bring anything new to genre, it is important to remember that the positioning of the victims isn’t of import in this ghoulishly outstanding debut, it is how they’re unremittingly taken off the board that matters.” The Movie Sleuth

” …beyond gore and dread, Magee also has a legitimate skill at filming physical scenes. Towards the film’s denouement, Montgomery, who faces with the Oh-Mah mano-a-mano, is covered in mud, springing and tumbling over and around the gargantuan beast, bringing a physicality to the film like professional dancers do.” Screen Anarchy

“If any CGI was used, it was minimal and used to enhance other effects. Horror fans should catch this one in theater if they can. Stick around for the post-credits to see a more sensual side of the film. I wouldn’t mind seeing that beauty get her own spin-off movie she’s such an intriguing character.” Without Your Head
