Reviews:

“Filmmaker Mathieu Ratthe is a one-man gang of writer, director, actor, FX artist, and more. A lot is attempted here for very little money, with The Gracefield Incident commendably achieving better low-budget CGI and a higher overall concept than many of its “found footage” peers dare even dream of.” Culture Crypt

“What could have been a rather poignant ending was ruined because my senses had been assaulted for about about an hour or so. There are other parts of the movie that were bad or just silly, but these would have been easier to ignore had the movie felt like sincere effort and not just a bunch of boxes that were checked off in order to make the most money from a small budget.” Cultured Vultures

“There’s not an original bone to be found in The Gracefield Incident. And while it has some promising technical achievements, it’s boring, poorly performed as a whole and you’ll frankly wish you could be abducted by aliens – just to avoid having to wade through this painful 85 minute piece of space-junk.” Horrorfreak News

“Without spoiling the who or the what of the film’s antagonist, it is quite clear that like the meteorite, the “monster” is out of this world. His intentions are unknown. The final scene, however, is an emotional turn that is one of the more thoughtful climaxes I have seen in a long time. It brings the tragedy of Matthew and Jessica’s loss full circle, allowing Matthew, at least, to be at peace…” Haddonfield Horror

” …deploys a lot of familiar tropes – a cabin in the woods (fairly upscale), three contrasting couples who don’t always get on well, local legends about Bigfoot, a possible UFO crash landing, a mystery object, a long-limbed beastie (cryptid or ET?) – but has some new twists in store.  The outcome isn’t entirely unpredictable (more Gene Roddenberry than Rod Serling, for a change), but it is unusual in the context of this kind of movie…” The Kim Newman Web Site
