Adjacent to Pinewood Film Studios and nearby former Bray Studios, Black Park has been used as an outdoor location for many film and television productions.

The woods and lake featured prominently in Hammer horror films from the late 1950s to the 1970s, such as The Kiss of the Vampire, Taste of Fear; Dracula: Prince of DarknessThe Devil Rides Out, Dracula Has Risen from the Grave; Twins of Evil, Vampire Circus and Demons of the Mind. In Hammer Films, the location was often used to represent Transylvania.

In keeping with the Hammer tradition, the 1979 romantic version of Dracula had a chase scene filmed in Black Park.

The park has also been used in other film productions such as Fiend Without a Face (1958), The Shadow of the Cat (1961), Curse of the Fly (1965), Island of Terror (1966), the James Bond franchise Goldfinger, where it was used for the classic night-time car chase scene, and the 2006 version of Casino Royale, Witchfinder General (ambush scene, 1968), The Blood on Satan’s Claw (1970), I Don’t Want to Be Born (1975) and the Monty Python film And Now For Something Completely Differentplus several Carry On films, BatmanSleepy Hollow, Captain AmericaThe Bunker, Eden Lake, werewolf films Howl and Blood Moon and zombie short Dead Hungry.

For television, Black Park, together with its lake, was used extensively in location filming for the planet ‘Alzarius’ in the Doctor Who serial Full Circle (1980) which featured the memorable, albeit delightfully cheap-looking, Marshmen monsters (see below).
