Creature Features is a board game released in the United States in 1975 by Research Games, Inc.

Based around the format used by Monopoly, the game replaces streets and property with movies and actors, primarily – but not exclusively – using films from the 1930s to 1950s. It follows the horror nostalgia style  of the major monster magazines of the era.

Within a circular board track, you buy movies as you travel, with actors (houses in Monopoly) connected to those movies also available for purchase. If you have the right combination of film and actors, you can try to win awards (similar to hotels in Monopoly) and if other players land on your movie, they have to pay you. There are also ‘Dead and Alive’ cards that replace the ‘Chance’ and ‘Community Chest’ cards in Monopoly.

Despite being a blatant copy of the more successful game, Creature Features seems to have avoided legal action. However, the game was not a major success and soon disappeared from the shelves. Inevitably, complete copies are now very collectible.
