Jurassic World is a 2015 monster movie shot in 3D and directed by Colin Trevorrow from a screenplay co-written with Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg, director of the 1993 original and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, produced with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. The film was originally announced as Jurassic Park 4.

The Amblin Entertainment/Universal Pictures production was released on June 12, 2015 and took a record-breaking $511.8m worldwide on its first weekend. On July 23, 2015, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Jurassic World had officially passed The Avengers on the worldwide box office gross chart to become the #3 highest grossing film ever. The only two movies ahead are James Cameron’s Titanic at #2 and Avatar at #1. The film pulled in $1.622 billion at the box office since mid-June and looks set to continue to rampage its way at cinemas. It was therefore no surprise that Jurassic World 2 was soon announced. The planned release date is June 22, 2018.
Despite its huge box office takings, the film also topped the 2015 list of the film with the most mistakes
