FACE OF THE SCREAMING WEREWOLF (1964) Reviews and overview

Face of the Screaming Werewolf is a 1964 horror film created by filmmaker Jerry Warren using scenes edited together from two Mexican monster movies, La Casa del Terror (“The House of Terror”) and La Momia Azteca (“The Aztec Mummy”), plus with some additional footage he produced himself, ostensibly in order to improve the narrative flow.

The werewolf mummy is played by Lon Chaney, Jr. in footage from La Casa del Terror, his last film role as a werewolf.

Plot:

A psychic leads archaeologists into an Aztec pyramid, where they discover two mummies. One of these is a werewolf mummy. Both mummies revive and stalk the scientists…

Reviews:

“A totally Z-grade extravaganza, its cheapness would make Ed Wood blush. All of the dialogue is obviously dubbed ADR, and most of the time it’s just overlaid onto insert shots […] But worst of all, none of it makes any real sense…” Oh, the Horror!
